The Post Lifecycle
Every post - whether generated from a page or written by hand - moves through the same lifecycle. Understanding it helps you know exactly where to look when something isn't going out as expected.
The stages
Idea → Generating → Draft → Needs Review → Approved → Scheduled → Published
- Idea / Generating - momentary states while the AI is producing the post. You won't usually interact with a post here.
- Draft (Generated) - the post exists with real content, ready for you to review or edit.
- Needs Review - if the domain requires approval (the default), new posts land here and wait for a human to approve them.
- Approved / Scheduled - approved posts move to their next available slot in the posting cadence, or you can schedule them for a specific date and time yourself.
- Published - the post has gone out to the platform. From here it's locked - no more editing.
Posts can also end up Failed (something went wrong on publish - you'll see why and can retry), Cancelled, or Archived.
Does every post need approval?
That's controlled by the "Require approval" setting:
- On (default) - every generated post stops at "Needs Review." Nothing publishes without an explicit approve click.
- Off - new posts are automatically scheduled into the next available posting slot as soon as they're generated, no manual step required. (They're never scheduled for the same day they're generated - same-day publishing only happens through an explicit manual "Publish now.")
This can be set per domain (in that domain's settings), and a workspace-wide override in Settings → Account can force every domain one way or the other if you want consistent behavior across your whole workspace.
Editing a post
A post can be rewritten, have its image swapped, or be deleted at any point before it's published - idea, draft, needs-review, approved, queued, or scheduled all count as editable. Once it's actually gone out, it's locked; you can't retroactively edit a published post from here (each platform's own editing rules apply if you want to change it after the fact).

Where to see everything
- Content - every post in the workspace, filterable by domain, channel, status, and whether it came from a page or was written manually.
- Calendar - a pure "what's scheduled and when" view across every channel.
No duplicate posts
If a channel already has a live (not-yet-published) post for a given page, the app skips generating another one for that same page/channel pair rather than creating a duplicate - you'll see a note like "skipped N channels that already have a post for this page" when that happens.
