Workspaces and Domains

Two container concepts show up everywhere in the app: workspaces and domains. They're not the same thing, and understanding the difference makes the rest of the product click.

Workspace = your account

A workspace is the top-level container: it holds your domains, your team members, and your billing/plan. When you sign up, you create one workspace and name it (e.g. your company or agency name). Most accounts only ever need one workspace.

  • Every paid plan includes unlimited workspaces.
  • Free includes 1.

Your plan's allowances are shared across all of your workspaces. Connected channels, page capacity and distribution credits belong to your plan, not to each workspace - so a second workspace is an organisational choice, never an extra cost and never extra capacity. On Starter that is 7 channels and 10 pages in total, however you spread them.

This is why extra workspaces are worth using only when you actually want the separation: a fully separate client environment with its own team and approval policy. If you just want to keep two sites apart, add them as two domains in one workspace - channels are already fenced per domain (below).

Plan, billing, and team membership are all set at the workspace level (Settings → Billing, Settings → Team).

Domain = one website you're distributing for

A domain is a single website you've added to a workspace - it has its own:

  • Discovered pages
  • Connected social channels (a channel connected under one domain is never available to another domain, even in the same workspace - this is intentional isolation, so a post composed for Domain A can never accidentally reach Domain B's audience)
  • Settings (approval policy, image pool, Google Search Console link)
  • Campaigns

A workspace can hold unlimited domains on every paid plan (Free is limited to 1). This is the right structure whether you're running one company blog or managing distribution for a dozen client sites from one agency workspace.

Why the isolation matters

Because social accounts are fenced per-domain, you can safely run very different content strategies - or even different clients - from the same workspace without any risk of cross-posting between them. Connecting X for client-a.com never makes that X account selectable for client-b.com.

Roles within a workspace

Everyone you invite to a workspace has a role that controls what they can do:

  • Owner - full control, including billing and plan changes. Every workspace must always have at least one owner.
  • Admin - can manage channels, domains, and most settings, but not billing.
  • Editor - can write, edit, and approve content.
  • Viewer - read-only access.

→ See Invite Your Team for how to add teammates and manage roles.

Where you'll see this in the app

  • Pages in the sidebar lists your domains and lets you drill into any one of them.
  • The workspace switcher (if you belong to more than one workspace) lets you jump between them.
  • Settings is workspace-wide; each domain's own page carries its own settings drawer for things scoped to just that site.
